GMT+3 overlaps most of the European working day and part of the US East Coast morning. Here is how payment and contracts typically work.
Does the timezone actually overlap with mine?
Türkiye is GMT+3. That is a full working-day overlap with Western Europe (UK, Germany, France — roughly 9am–5pm UK time falls within 12pm–8pm in Türkiye), and a partial overlap with US East Coast mornings. In practice this means same-day replies during a normal European business day, and a response within the day for US East Coast messages sent in their morning.
How does payment typically work across borders?
Milestone-based, agreed in writing before work starts: a deposit, a mid-project payment, and a final payment on delivery. International bank transfer, PayPal or Wise are the common methods; the specific one is agreed per client, not fixed in advance.
Is a written contract standard?
Yes — a written scope of work with a fixed price, milestones and delivery terms is standard practice regardless of where the client is based, precisely because it protects both sides when working across a distance and a language.
